The film was nominated for IDA Awards and Cinema Eye Awards for Best Cinematography.

He had the ability to capture my father in the landscape in a way that placed our time, the brief lifespan of humans, in contrast to the eternal lifespan of nature and the globe. Herman has an eye for composition, which, together with a finely tuned sense of rhythm and movement, was crucial for the visual power of Fedrelandet."
